Calla Care was born from the gap millions of families live in: you call as often as you can, and it's never quite enough.
Say our name out loud and you'll hear it: Calla Care— “call a care.” That's the whole idea. A daily call, from someone who genuinely cares.
More than a third of older adults report feeling lonely on a regular basis, and loneliness is now understood to be as damaging to health as smoking. Meanwhile, their children — busy, far away, stretched thin — carry a quiet, constant worry: is Mom okay today?
The existing answers all ask the wrong person to do the work. Medical alert pendants wait for a fall. Tablets and apps demand that an eighty-year-old learn new technology. Daily phone calls from family are wonderful, but life makes them inconsistent — and guilt fills the gaps.
We started Calla Care with a different premise: the telephone already works. Seniors love answering it. So we built Clara — a warm, patient companion who calls every day, remembers every story, and genuinely pays attention. She lifts the loneliness on one end of the line, and on the other, she gives families what they have always wanted: the full picture, without hovering.
Today Calla Care makes thousands of minutes of conversation happen every week — about tomato gardens, grandkids' recitals, old jobs, and everything in between. Each one ends the same way: with someone feeling a little less alone, and someone else worrying a little less.

We never pretend to be something we're not. Clara is introduced truthfully, defers all medical questions to family and doctors, and escalates the moment something feels wrong.
