Privacy policy
Last updated: June 12, 2026
Calla Care exists to care for the people you love, and that starts with treating their information — and yours — with respect. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We never sell personal information, and we never use your loved one's conversations for advertising.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up we collect your name, email address, and payment details (processed by our payment provider — we never store full card numbers).
Care profile information. To make calls personal and safe, you share information about your loved one: their name, phone number, date of birth, interests, important people in their life, and optional health context such as hearing difficulties. You are responsible for having their permission to share it.
Call recordings and transcripts. Check-in calls are recorded and transcribed so we can produce summaries, track wellness trends, and let Clara remember previous conversations.
Usage information. Standard technical data about how you use our website and dashboard, such as device type and pages visited.
How we use it
We use this information to:
- Place check-in calls and make them feel personal;
- Generate call summaries, mood and wellness trends, and the alerts you configure;
- Detect situations that need your attention, including requests for help during a call;
- Operate, bill, and improve the service;
- Respond to your support requests.
Health context you share is used only to make calls safer and more personal. Clara never recites it back or discusses it with anyone other than your loved one and the family members you authorize.
AI processing
Calla Care's calls are powered by artificial intelligence, including speech and language models operated by trusted infrastructure providers. Conversation content is processed to hold the conversation, produce summaries, and maintain continuity between calls. We contractually prohibit our AI providers from using your loved one's conversations to train their general-purpose models.
When we share information
We share personal information only:
- With the family members you authorize on your account, who can see call summaries and wellness information;
- With service providers who help us operate Calla Care — telephony, AI processing, payments, and hosting — under contracts that limit their use of the data to providing the service;
- When required by law, or to protect someone's life or safety in an emergency.
We never sell personal information to anyone.
Retention
We keep call recordings, transcripts, and summaries while your account is active so Clara can maintain a genuine, continuous relationship with your loved one. If you delete a care profile or close your account, the associated recordings and transcripts are deleted within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep them longer.
Your choices and rights
- You can review and update care profile information anytime;
- You can pause or stop calls with one tap;
- You can request a copy or deletion of your data — or data about your loved one — by emailing privacy@calla.care;
- If your loved one asks us during a call to stop calling, we honor it and notify you.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA or GDPR. We honor verified requests regardless of jurisdiction.
Security
Conversations and personal data are encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside Calla Care is limited to employees who need it to operate the service or support you, and every access is logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat this data the way we would want our own parents' data treated.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will notify you by email before they take effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.
